Judith Heard promoting Uganda tourism
Judith Heard visits Tooro King where her Grannies hailed from. She particularly promoted Uganda Tourism shining a light on tea as one of the Major consumed plants in the World at Rwenzori Commodities Ltd.
Tea Tourism is a niche market in the tea industry. With tea being the second most consumed beverage on the planet, it would follow that tea tourism would become the next hottest tourism destinations.
Fort Portal is Famous for its tea. This area is gifted by nature with a cool climate which ensures a relatively slow plant growth rate This naturally makes the tea a high grown, high-quality tea.
“Thank you Rwenzori Commodities Ltd for hosting me this morning 🙏🏾” Judith Heard said.
In January 1993, Rwenzori Commodities Ltd started its operations in Kabarole and Kyenjojo districts, rehabilitating and planting 2556 hectares of tea out of 5700 hectares of land and built four tea factories namely, Buzirasagama, Hiima, Munobwa, and Kigumba with a capacity of 200,000 kgs of green leaf or 47,000 kgs made tea per day.
At Hiima and Kigumba there are two lines of Orthodox Tea manufacturing units with a production capacity of 4,000 kgs made tea per day.
